With a diamond patronage of Damascus Petrochemical Refinery Company, activities of the first edition of Syria International Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ Exhibition “Syr Petro” 2019, sponsored by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and organized by Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, kicked off at Damascus Fairgrounds.

The exhibition is an opportunity to exchange experiences and enable experts and specialists in the oil, gas and mineral resources sector to exchange information and ideas that contribute to shaping the future of the energy sector in Syria.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Ali Ghanem, visited the refinery’s Pavilion and met with Chairman of the Refinery’s Board of Directors and its General Manager, Mr. Ahmad Al-Ansari who gave a brief presentation of the refinery’s work in the field of recycling used oils and waste oil, the most important types of oils produced by the refinery and its international standard specifications.

The company’s pavilion was honored by the visit of a number of industrialists, merchants and representatives of companies working in the field of oil and those interested in recycling oil waste, with an active participation of the companies interested in the field of recycling used oils and waste oil and its impact on the environment.

During the activities of the exhibition, the refinery presented a lecture on the environmental and economic contribution of the waste oil recycling industry.

In the presence of Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Director General of the Refinery, Dr. Samer Abu Ammar, delivered a lecture focusing on the misuse of oil waste and its bad effects on the environment, the possibility available for recycling oil waste in Syria, and the role of recycling in protecting the environment, as well as the economic impact of recycling on the national economy and saving the foreign exchange, and the use of economic savings to strengthen the national economy.

In appreciation of the efforts exerted by the refinery in making the exhibition activities a success and its remarkable and distinguished presence, Mr. Khalaf Mashhadani, General Manager of Mashhadani International Group, presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Refinery’s Board of Directors and its General Manager, Mr. Ahmad Al-Ansari.

The meeting included an exchange of opinions and views on the most important proposals for the development of the exhibition in its next session, “Syr petro 2020”.
